These 4 noise machines will lull you to sleep

As a certified poor sleeper, I have tried almost every strategy and device that can help a person fall asleep (and stay asleep), at least as far as internet theories can take me. A noise machine didn’t make me a good sleeper, far from it, but it made me a better sleeper. It has given me more mental space, unencumbered by slamming doors, noisy neighbors, and the pipe ghost that lives in the old heating system, pounding the pipes all night.

At first, they reserved the noise machine for bedtime. I used it to neutralize the noises of the non-sleepers around me and to drown out the people who came out of the bar downstairs screaming at 3am. The noise all the time - people taking calls, people watching TV - over-stimulated me and put me into a state of inner rage. The most powerful noise machine available stopped me.

Here are four of the best noise machines around. Some are simple, others offer unparalleled technical features. Buy your ticket to a more peaceful atmosphere at home (or at work) here, before another sleepless night takes you away.

1. Evo White Noise Machine

LectroFan’s white noise machine has kept me on my toes for nearly four years. It’s simple, with 22 white and fan noises that don’t loop. It gets the job done.

2. Sound+Sleep noise machine

It’s not the prettiest machine in the world, but if it’s going to be placed in a corner or somewhere you can’t see it, it’s a very advanced model despite being from a more basic machine. There is the basic white noise, but you can also opt for one of the many nature sounds for a complete change of auditory scenery.

3. Micro2

LectroFan also makes a mini version of their noise machine, which I take with me on all my trips. It’s pretty powerful for its size (maybe half the size of my palm), but it’s best to keep it relatively close to your head. The upside is that we can use it as a Bluetooth speaker for any needs other than sleep noise.

4. Sleep aid device

The Morpheus machine is also a personal meditation teacher of sorts. It offers 210 sessions that include guided meditations. It’s completely offline - no need for a screen. Turn the first knob for the theme, the second for the session and the third for the duration. You’ll be relaxed in no time.
